Came across this via Zero Hedge. Thank you very much for the work you put into this.
From the ten commandments:"You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth. "
The idea is a man-made representation of a created thing, an image, because it will be used as an idol. The image becomes a focus of worship, which gives the image power.
Artificial intelligence is explicitly a man-made representation of human intelligence, it is precisely what the commandment prohibits. The result of idol worship is always human sacrifice in one form or another. That is what we can expect.

Francis Bacon and his work has been mischaracterized in most of academia and elsewhere for a very long time. Further, the assertion he lacked a very developed spiritual side likewise is incorrect.
On the technological side, his view, as incorporated in his New Atlantis, is that new discoveries should be discovered or found, and that a handful of illuminated individuals should evaluate each one and only those whose benefits far exceeded their detriments would see the light of day. Bacon understood human nature of any individual type or status, and its proclivity for evil or making bad choices that cause disasters.

Blase Pascal is also highly relevant there given his huge contribution to the creation of computer technology.

Like Blaise Pascal, Francis kept his spiritual side hidden or highly obscured. Likewise, with Sir Richard Burton.

Saw the article on ZH and thoroughly enjoyed the read. There is obviously a war going on between good and evil and "us" vs "them". I am looking forward to a follow up and hopes it focuses on steps that the "us" can take to counter the steps taken by "them" as it relates to BTC, AI, and the forthcoming next industrial revolution.

The author is long GOAT but doesn't see the symbology of a two horned beast, based around a horrific and nasty meme only evil could contrive. Meanwhile BTC was hijacked during the blocksize wars when it pivoted from being Digital Cash to Digital Gold, and all of the additional functionality (eg. Namecoin nameservers, CounterParty token creation and trading, smart contracts, etc) were discouraged or blocked outright by Bitcoin Core, to the point where Blackrock et al are today among the leading HODLers of Bitcoin. CBDCs are surely a serious risk to human freedom, but the author has not properly identified the solution, at least not in this article. Plenty of deceptions still to unravel. Interesting topic at least and some good references to further reading, thanks.
