I’ve lost count of the number long cycles, catastrophic swans, social neuroses and demographic disasters that currently assail us. This feels like a turning point for modern civilization, back to something less technological and more local, without even the organization of the 1700’s available.
It seems a massive loss of population could come from several angles, maybe two or three at once. Economically, all the easily harvested resources are gone, so any recovery will be very slow and to a much decreased level of societal complexity.

Yes. As useful as some of the platforms can be sometimes, it is increasingly a question of whether all the accompanying bullshit is actually worth the limited benefit we get in return.

As an aside: I am seriously impressed. Someone else knows who Samuel E. Konkin is! Wow. He was legendary in the seventies and in his writing left us all with lots to ponder.
