The "People's Republic of China" (abbreviating it to "China" doesn't address the history of the last century and the civil war that never really ended) didn't "lift people out of poverty"…the leaders just re-defined poverty so fewer people fell in the definition so they could pre-maturely declare victory and try to take credit for it. If you watch "The China Show" on Youtube regularly you'ld get to see how fake everything the PRC puts out really is.

Though a lot of premature declarations of victory have been made by the leaders of many places on a lot of things in the last few years trying to make themselves look good without actually fixing anything but that's a deeper more involved discussion. More leaders all over the place need to get called out when they fake it.

The communist/socialist revolutions were co opted by fascist regimes almost immediately. Perhaps the NSDAP attempt at drawing votes from supporters of the en vogue ism of the day (socialism) by adding it to their name is where some become confused, and claim both are the same.

I started watching David Webb's documentary. Two fallacies in the first few minutes. Don't bother listening to this guy. He has no credibility. I'm not saying there are not structure legal issues, but he takes forever to get there and discusses topics he obviously doesn't understand, so I can't take him seriously on those topics where he might be on to something.

In the first few minutes he discusses the velocity of money is a nonsensical relation, which Rothbard disassembles in "Man, Economy & State." Webb is just wrong here. Then the rust belt wasn’t created by bankers. The US manufactures more than it ever has, but with a fraction of the labor. We became an information economy. Just as in the Industrial Revolution we went from a 95%+ farming employed economy to predominantly manufacturing economy. Yet we produced more farm product than ever, and still do today.
I wouldn’t waste my time with this guy. He doesn't understand basic economics.
