Unless you think some how all the materials that are widely available in the environment (and in our "trash") for conducting electricity, transmitting photons in various frequencies, and etching stuff into metal will magically go away…

Thought provoking indeed. Will the common man rise up and once and forever eliminate the global elite, the Rothchilds and the one party den of thieves that is our government and return to the principles this nation was founded on? Or has decades of chemtrail chemistry rendered us so impotent and docile that we’ll just roll over and accept the insanity that is all around us at this moment? The “Jackpot” concept, as a series of rolling catastrophes, is not an original idea of Gibson, it was already been used in 2008 Neal Stephenson’s “Anathem”: ref. the “Harbingers/Terrible Events”.

I only see two scenarios:

1) Globalist world – similar to scenario 2. Globalist world happens if the globalists planned the virus for years and created numerous structures and contingency plans to take advantage of the situation very quickly. In globalist world, the virus is the planned trigger event to bring about full globalism. The long term result of globalist world, is that the globalists have their day in the sun but by the 2040s it becomes apparent that their transhumanist dreams are going to fail. Then they turn on each other and we have 30 years of on again off again global civil war as the globalist factions each try to wrest control from the others. Globalist world collapses in the 2070s into cyberpunk world.

2) Chaos world – similar to scenario 4. Chaos world happens if the globalists lose control within the next 4 years. Either they did not build the structures well enough and the virus and its results get our of their control, or they did not plan the virus, and the general contingencies they set up are not enough. Chaos world is more interesting in that the world experiences a renaissance in the 2070s and 2080s. The chaos allows us to step back and reevaluate and rework our technological foundation and we enter the 2090s energized, with a much better foundation. I can’t see much past 2100 in either case.
