When the Berlin Wall fell in November 1989, the world celebrated the end of one of history’s most oppressive regimes. East Germans stormed the headquarters of the Ministry for State Security — the infamous Stasi — desperate to seize and protect the mountains of files that documented decades of tyranny. What they uncovered was more horrifying than most could have imagined.

Among the archives was Directive 1/76, issued in 1976 by Stasi chief Erich Mielke. This document formalized Zersetzung — “decomposition” or “corrosion” — a systematic program of psychological warfare designed to destroy “hostile-negative” individuals and groups without the messiness of arrests, trials, or overt violence. The goal was simple and demonic: fragment, paralyze, disorganize, and isolate the target so completely that they could no longer function as a threat — all while maintaining the appearance of normal life.

The Sheer Evil of Zersetzung

Historian Hubertus Knabe, one of the foremost experts on the Stasi, described it chillingly: “The Stasi didn’t try to arrest every dissident. It preferred to paralyze them… by damaging their reputation, by organizing failures in their work, and by destroying their personal relationships.”

Tactics included:

Covert home invasions to move furniture, change alarm clocks, or swap everyday items (classic gaslighting)

Systematic smear campaigns using true, false, and twisted information

Engineered professional and social failures

Provocation, anonymous threats, and orchestrated “coincidences”

Destruction of marriages, friendships, and family ties through rumors and planted evidence

Sabotage of careers, vehicles, and medical care

Victims often had no idea the Stasi was responsible. Many believed they were losing their minds. Mental breakdowns and suicides were common outcomes.

One victim, Jürgen Fuchs, a writer and dissident, called it “psychosocial crime” and “an assault on the human soul.” Many survivors suffered lifelong trauma, paranoia, depression, and shattered trust. Some received modest compensation decades later, but for most, the damage was irreparable. Families were torn apart. Careers evaporated. Lives were slowly, methodically erased from within.

The Stasi built an enormous network of civilian informants — the Inoffizielle Mitarbeiter (IMs). By 1989, there were roughly 91,000 full-time Stasi employees and between 173,000 and 189,000 unofficial informants. This meant roughly one in every 50 to 60 East German citizens was actively collaborating with the secret police — an astonishing level of societal penetration. Some estimates, including occasional informants, run as high as one in six or seven adults.

These informants came from every walk of life: neighbors, colleagues, friends, even family members. Recruitment methods ranged from ideological appeal and bribes to blackmail and threats against loved ones. Once enlisted, they were used to spread rumors, provoke conflicts, sabotage opportunities, and report intimate details for the creation of detailed “psychograms” — psychological profiles used to exploit every weakness.

From East Germany to Canada: The Equibit Case

What happened to Chris Horlacher and Equibit Group bears unmistakable hallmarks of this same strategy — updated with 21st-century digital tools and operating within a Five Eyes democracy.

As documented across the Equibit Factum, technical forensic reports, live videos, court filings, and interviews on equibitlawsuit.com, the campaign against Horlacher and his company included:

Prolonged surveillance and contact by prime-suspect Marc Godard beginning as early as 2010 — when Chris was engaged in online liberty activism.

What appears to be the recruitment and corruption of Sergei Sachkov, lead Core developer at Equibit Group, by CSIS.

Intense and malicious harassment by the Ontario Securities Commission, and demonstrable entrapment efforts.

Marc’s attempts to involve Chris with questionable individuals post-Equibit, more entrapment schemes via financial crimes.

Router compromises via the TR-069 protocol, with logs showing impossible 1981 timestamps and persistent remote access.

DNS man-in-the-middle attacks rerouting traffic through U.S. servers.

Microsoft ecosystem intrusions where private memos were observed copying themselves in real time.

De-banking, institutional pressure, and coordinated defamation campaigns.

Insider betrayal, code forking, rebranding (OCEAN → Tesseract), a coordinated effort to dismantle Equibit Group from within.

Marc Godard’s background in Cognitive Science would have been particularly useful in constructing the kind of detailed psychograms the Stasi relied upon — mapping personality weaknesses, relationships, and pressure points for maximum psychological effect.

This was not random crime or bad luck. It was a sustained, multi-vector operation designed to isolate, financially ruin, discredit, and psychologically break a founder who dared to become a fierce advocate for limited, constitutional government.

Zersetzung Has Gone Global

The Stasi needed a vast human network because they lacked today’s digital omnipresence. In the Five Eyes countries (Canada, USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand), agencies no longer need millions of informants on the ground. They have tools that allow remote, deniable, scalable decomposition: compromised routers, operating system-level access, financial system cooperation, and institutional capture.

What Horlacher has experienced — and meticulously documented — strongly suggests that modern Zersetzung is not only possible in Canada and its allies, but is likely already being deployed against innovators, dissidents, and threats to the established order throughout the country.

A Call to Global Conscience

This is cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment. It is extrajudicial psychological torture dressed up in the language of national security. It violates every principle of human dignity and the rule of law.

We call on readers to take immediate action:

Visit https://equibitlawsuit.com — read the evidence, watch the videos, review the technical reports.

Submit a detailed complaint to the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture (sr-torture@ohchr.org), including all available documentation and requesting an urgent inquiry into the use of modern Zersetzung-style tactics by intelligence agencies in democratic nations.

Contact appropriate NGOs and oversight bodies: Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, Privacy International, and the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency.

Share this story relentlessly. Public awareness is the greatest threat to these shadow operations.

What was done to Equibit and Chris Horlacher must not be allowed to become the new normal. If governments in the West can wage silent war on their own citizens — innovators, thinkers, builders — using the refined cruelty of the Stasi, then none of us are safe.

The Berlin Wall fell. The files were opened. The world saw the evil and recoiled in horror.

Today, new walls are being built in the digital realm — invisible, pervasive, and far more sophisticated. We must tear them down with the same courage and determination.

The time for silence is over. The time for exposure, outrage, and accountability is now.

Demand an international inquiry. Demand justice for the victims of digital Zersetzung. Demand that this hideous violation of human rights ends.

Because if we do not act, the decomposition will spread — until freedom itself is nothing but a memory.

If you are new to the Equibit story, please read The Assassination of Equibit, originally released in 2023.

Chris Horlacher has documented multiple sophisticated intrusions through his Microsoft ecosystem. These incidents go well beyond ordinary malware and align with key moments in his legal activities. They indicate a close collaboration between Microsoft and the Five Eyes to deliver undetectable spyware onto targeted devices in order to steal information and interfere with the normal functions of the computer.

Key Incidents of Unauthorized Access

July 19, 2025 – Unauthorized Sharing of Sensitive Memo
A confidential memo was suddenly made publicly shareable via OneDrive using Chris’s own Microsoft account. He did not perform this action. During the event, his computer’s built-in screen recorder was disabled. Luckily Chris was able to capture the event with his cell phone’s camera.

Watch the incident:

August 27, 2025 – Spontaneous File Movement
A critical security report analyzing router compromises was mysteriously moved to the desktop.

October 27, 2025 – Camera Roll Breach
OneDrive logs showed someone browsing the Camera Roll folder containing images taken directly by the device, as well as two files related to psychology that provide insight as to the hacker’s identity (more on that in later posts!)

Watch the Camera Roll intrusion:

Mass Windows & BIOS Updates – Highly Suspicious Timing

On August 18, 2025, immediately before a strategy call with his lawyers about upcoming discovery sessions, Chris’s computer began installing an unusually large wave of updates — including Windows, BIOS, and more than a dozen other components. He described it as one of the largest simultaneous update pushes he had ever experienced. Call quality then rapidly deteriorated and the connection was terminated exactly when the discussion turned to sensitive topics.

This event is especially concerning in the context of Bill C-22, Canada’s proposed Lawful Access Act. Part 2 of the bill would require electronic service providers (including software and operating system vendors) to build and maintain technical capabilities to facilitate authorized access to information by law enforcement and CSIS. Critics argue this could effectively compel companies like Microsoft to enable mechanisms for delivering signed updates or payloads that Windows would trust by default. Because Microsoft-signed updates are automatically trusted by the operating system, they represent a powerful and nearly undetectable vector for delivering targeted tools to specific users.

For more on Bill C-22:

Nightmare Eclipse Zero-Days and Browsergate

These incidents occurred against the backdrop of major Microsoft security controversies. In 2026, researcher Nightmare-Eclipse (also known as Chaotic Eclipse) publicly released several high-impact Windows zero-days, including exploits targeting Windows Defender and privilege escalation mechanisms. Some researchers have speculated that certain vulnerabilities may have been known internally for extended periods before public disclosure.

Additionally, Browsergate exposed serious allegations against LinkedIn (owned by Microsoft). According to a detailed report by Fairlinked e.V.:

LinkedIn allegedly injected JavaScript that scanned users’ browsers for over 6,000 Chrome extensions.

The script reportedly collected detailed device telemetry and extension data without clear user consent or prominent disclosure in the privacy policy.

This allowed LinkedIn to build extensive user profiles, potentially identifying competitors, corporate tools, and other sensitive software.

The revelations led to privacy lawsuits and widespread criticism. You can read the original report here: BrowserGate.eu

Broader Implications

These events demonstrate deep access into Chris’s systems, precise timing aligned with legal activities, and the ability to manipulate core operating system functions. When combined with other documented technical attacks, they highlight growing risks around proprietary platforms and the potential for state-level exploitation.

Additional technical evidence and interviews in the Media section

If you are new to the Equibit story, please read The Assassination of Equibit, originally released in 2023.

In the ongoing campaign of digital harassment and sabotage documented by Chris Horlacher, one of the most technical and intrusive episodes involves repeated compromises of his home routers in Mexico. These incidents directly affected Chris Horlacher’s ability to work, communicate securely, and access the internet—targeting only specific devices while sparing others on the same network.

This pattern aligns with advanced persistent threats, often linked to state-level or ISP-enabled capabilities.

Background: Part of a Broader Pattern

After fleeing Canada due to chronic digital intrusions and other events stemming from what he believed to be the lawsuits he just filed, Chris continued facing disruptions. VPN instability, selective device blocking, and unexplained connectivity issues prompted deeper investigation. Factory resets provided temporary relief, but problems returned rapidly—classic behavior of persistent malware or remote management exploits

The Attacks: Huawei HG8145V5V3 and ZTE F670L Routers

Key Anomalies Observed:

1981 Timestamps: Multiple log entries show dates like 1981-01-01. This is a strong indicator of Real-Time Clock (RTC) reset or deliberate log tampering/manipulation, often seen when firmware is altered or during boot-level interference. Security analysis reports explicitly flag these as “Backdated logs to 1981 (RTC reset or tampering).”

Custom Firewall Rules & Selective Blocking: Firewall settings changed to “user defined.” Specific devices (Chris’s and his wife’s) lost internet access while others worked, consistent with targeted rules or a Remote Access Trojan (RAT).

Rapid Re-infection Post-Reset: Issues returned within hours, even on a replacement router from the ISP (Telmex).

From the ZTE Log (August 2025, post-reset):

2025-08-04T16:16:01Z [Error] |dnsmasq| bind interface socket failed 99
2025-08-04T16:16:01Z [Error] !!!!!![high Alert for send msg in POWERON]...
[Warning] RunPCB process[omci] Event[0x3e81]...

High-priority OMCI/GPON messages immediately after boot, IPv6 route injections before full WAN negotiation, and MultiAPD errors point to remote provisioning activity.

From Huawei Logs (July 2025):

Numerous
1981-01-01
entries alongside PPPoE renegotiations, deprecated SSL methods, and DHCP NAKs (potential MAC spoofing or rogue activity). Frequent PPPoE sessions suggest possible DoS or disruption attempts.

Expert Security Analysis

Independent analysis by a professional (using SIEM-style detection) on both routers confirmed:

TR-069/OMCI remote provisioning activity.

Backdated logs and tampering indicators.

Potential RAT presence and DoS patterns.

Recommendations: Replace/reflash router, disable TR-069, scan devices, and isolate vulnerable hardware (e.g., older Smart TV).

Huawei Router Analysis Report (PDF)

ZTE Router Analysis Report (PDF)

TR-069 (CWMP) Vulnerabilities: This Broadband Forum protocol enables ISPs to remotely manage Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) like routers via an Auto-Configuration Server (ACS), often over port 7547. While intended for legitimate management, it is notoriously exploitable. Compromised ACS servers or weak implementations allow attackers full remote control, DNS redirection, firmware backdoors, and persistent access. It has been weaponized in botnets (e.g., Mirai variants) and enables exactly the selective targeting and re-infection seen here. Many ISPs do not allow users to fully disable it.

Video Evidence: Router Investigations

Watch Chris document the issues in real-time:

Part 1: Initial router access and strange behavior.

Part 2: Firewall changes, selective blocking, and admin interface interference.

Part 3: Factory reset, log downloads, and post-reset observations.

Part 4 (Short): Post-reset functionality vs. actual device connectivity failure.

Implications

These attacks go beyond typical criminal hacking. The precision (device-specific blocking), persistence across hardware swaps, use of ISP-managed protocols, and alignment with other documented sabotage (e.g., Microsoft OneDrive tampering, email spoofing, bank disruptions) point to sophisticated actors with significant resources—potentially leveraging intelligence or ISP cooperation.

Combined with the broader evidence in the Factum (honeypot hits from government networks, Keybase anomalies, etc.), this leaves little doubt that Chris Horlacher’s infrastructure was under targeted surveillance and disruption.

What You Can Do:

Demand transparency from ISPs on remote management (TR-069/OMCI).

Support calls for accountability in intelligence oversight.

Share this post—stories like this highlight risks to innovators and due process.

Full logs and analysis reports (Huawei and ZTE PDFs) are available for review upon request for credible researchers/journalists.

This is not paranoia. This is documented technical evidence of invasive digital warfare against a Canadian entrepreneur and litigant, across national boundaries, violating the property of a foreign ISP.

The EU passed Regulation 2024/1624 (the Anti-Money Laundering Package) with a vote of 482 to 47 in April 2024. Starting July 10, 2027, businesses across all 27 EU member states are prohibited from accepting or making cash payments above €10,000. This applies to single transactions or multiple payments over time that “appear to be linked.” The language is deliberately broad.

But the €10,000 cap is just the ceiling. Cash transactions above €3,000 now trigger mandatory identity verification: government-issued ID, KYC procedures, records retained for five years. Businesses must monitor payment patterns to detect structured transactions designed to circumvent the limits.

France caps business cash transactions at €1,000 for residents. Greece at €500. Belgium at €3,000. The EU regulation explicitly allows member states to impose stricter limits.

Meanwhile, a new EU Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) is being stood up in Frankfurt with 400-plus staff to directly supervise anti-money-laundering controls at the 40 biggest financial institutions in the bloc. This is a brand new enforcement body with continent-wide reach.

The pushback is minimal but telling. Hungary amended its constitution in 2025 to include explicit cash protection provisions. Norway passed a law prohibiting businesses from refusing cash up to about €1,720. These are defensive moves by countries that can see where the trend is headed.

Two waves of new obligations hit reporting entities: the first in April 2025, the second in October 2025. The list of who must report to FINTRAC now includes title insurers, mortgage lenders, armoured car operators, and white-label ATM providers. Sanctions evasion was added as a reportable offence in August 2024, meaning any transaction suspected of being related to sanctions violations must be flagged. But both use the tax code to make domestic investment cheaper and foreign investment more expensive. That is the textbook definition of a soft capital control.

And here’s the historical context that makes this more alarming: Canada has done this before. From 1971 to 2005, RRSPs were subject to a Foreign Property Rule that capped non-Canadian investments. It started at 10% of book value, rose to 20% in 1994, then 30% in 2001, and was finally abolished in 2005. For over three decades, Canadian retirement savings were legally required to be predominantly invested in Canadian assets. The rule was scrapped because economists demonstrated it hurt returns, concentrated risk in a small market (Canada represents less than 3% of global equities), and didn’t even meaningfully boost domestic investment. The mutual fund industry found derivatives workarounds, and the rule became a pointless drag on middle-class savers.

Industry Minister Melanie Joly told fund managers to invest more of their assets at home as part of a broader push toward “economic nationalism.” Carney’s finance minister met with Maple Eight CEOs in Toronto in early 2025 to discuss new domestic ventures. Multiple senators and policy commentators have called for mandated domestic investment minimums, similar to rules in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, and South Korea.

Quebec Premier François Legault pushed the province’s Caisse de Dépôt pension fund to invest in the local economy under his “Quebec Power” program. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith pursued withdrawing the province from the federal CPP to redirect pension money toward the oil and gas sector. Canada already demonstrated in 2022 that it will freeze bank accounts without judicial review. It already had a 34-year history of legally restricting where retirement savings could be invested. Take your money out of those entities and the enforcement mechanism loses its target. This is not theoretical. During the Canadian Freedom Convoy, banks froze accounts because the government told them to. Bitcoin donations to the same cause continued to flow because there was no bank in the middle to receive the order. The government was reduced to asking exchanges to freeze specific addresses they could identify, a far more limited and difficult operation than calling a bank.

Money that can only be spent in certain categories. Money that can be turned off. Bitcoin is the exact opposite of this vision. Its supply is fixed at 21 million. Its rules are set by consensus, not by central authority. Nobody can change the emission schedule, impose spending conditions, or program restrictions into your holdings. The monetary policy is written into the code and enforced by tens of thousands of nodes run by individuals around the world. No committee meets to decide whether to inflate. Every other financial asset you can name (every stock, bond, bank deposit, or piece of real estate) exists within a legal and institutional framework that governments control. They can change the rules on taxation, restrict your ability to sell, freeze your account, or dilute your purchasing power through monetary expansion.

Now, the obvious objection: “But you still need to buy Bitcoin through an exchange, and exchanges are regulated.” True. On-ramps are the weak point, and governments know it. CARF targets crypto exchanges specifically. KYC requirements at exchanges mean your initial purchase is tracked.

But here’s the critical difference. Once you withdraw Bitcoin to self-custody, you’ve moved from the regulated world to the protocol world. You’ve taken your wealth off the institutional rails that the entire capital control stack is built on. And unlike gold (try getting $50,000 in gold bars through airport security), Bitcoin can be moved across borders with nothing but a memorized seed phrase. No customs declaration. No wire transfer. No SWIFT message. No intermediary of any kind.

There’s a deeper point here that gets lost in the “number go up” discourse. In a world where every other form of savings is increasingly surveilled, restricted, and subject to institutional permission, Bitcoin gives you the option to step outside that system. That option has a value, and it increases every time a new regulation tightens the perimeter around traditional finance.

Think about what’s happened just in the last two years. Outbound investment screening went from nonexistent to covering most technology sectors. Cash caps were legislated across Europe. The FATF rewrote the rules on cross-border transaction surveillance. CARF closed the reporting gap on crypto held at exchanges. De-banking accelerated to industrial scale in the UK. CBDCs moved from research papers to 49 active pilots.

This isn’t about tax evasion or breaking laws. Most Bitcoiners pay their taxes and follow the rules. It’s about having a credible exit from a system that is, as I’ve documented above, methodically closing every other door. It’s about holding an asset that doesn’t require the ongoing cooperation of the banking system to retain its value and utility. It’s about having a Plan B that actually works when Plan A (trusting institutions to respect your financial sovereignty) fails.

Outbound investment restrictions expanding months after they’re introduced. Cash caps being legislated across Europe. Every year, the perimeter tightens.

Consider this question: if you lived in a country where the government had the ability to monitor every transaction you make, control where you invest, restrict how you use cash, close your bank account without explanation, and was building infrastructure to program conditions directly into the money itself, what kind of asset would you want to hold?

“Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?” — Johnny Rotten

Today’s post is excerpted from the August edition of The Bitcoin Capitalist Letter – get a special deal for Bombthrower readers here »

I’m starting on this month’s Bitcoin Capitalist Letter fairly early into the month – when we’ve just heard from on high that, yes, Jeffrey Epstein killed himself and there’s “nothing to see here”.

It’s been astonishing, if not disappointing, to watch some of the most vehement “MAGA” berserkers flip from: “Release the Epstein files and convene tribunals” to “Of course he killed himself!” – literally overnight.

Dinesh D’Souza and Ben Shapiro were among the MAGA all-stars who suddenly found it distracting to be navel-gazing over who the Epstein clients actually were and whether anyone in power was compromised by their involvement with sexual predation.

Now, some of the most ardent, supposedly red-pilled influencers are literally doing the meme…

Since then, Trump has issued a series of rather long, rambling missives via his Truth Social network, which I can’t help but think sounds like someone “doth protest too much”; that, and they read like the screeds of somebody who is mentally ill.

A bi-partisan effort sprang up to force the release of the remaining Epstein files, but voting on it was scuttled when Speaker of the House Mike Johnson called an early start to the summer recess.

Suffice it to say, we shouldn’t be surprised when our elected officials – even the “anti-establishment” mavericks, once they find a place within the machinery of government – end up being in on The Royal Scam.

If you’re wondering what that is, just pick up a copy of Murray Rothbard’s “Anatomy of the State”…

“Briefly, the State is that organization in society which attempts to maintain a monopoly of the use of force and violence in a given territorial area; in particular, it is the only organization in society that obtains its revenue not by voluntary contribution or payment for services rendered but by coercion”

“The State provides a legal, orderly, systematic channel for the predation of private property; it renders certain, secure, and relatively ‘peaceful’ the lifeline of the parasitic caste in society.”

In other words, once you’re part of a system that is structurally rigged to embezzle wealth from the public and create a systemic racket to perpetuate it, there is no “changing it from within” or any meaningful reform in the offing.

It’s just there, hardwired to protect itself, which it will do until it completely goes off the rails or implodes.

So either Trump is, like Elon Musk once taunted on X, “in the Epstein files”, or else he’s found himself having to horse-trade around a bunch of other people who are in there; either way, this whole deal is up to its neck in intelligence agencies, dark budgets and the hidden side of power that us peons will never know the truth of — and those in political caste are completely beholden to.

Add to that further information that the entire Bitcoin Strategic Reserve was either a fantasy or an epic fail, after US Marshals revealed the total stash in possession of the US government wasn’t 250K BTC but rather 29K. Under Trump’s March 6th Executive Order to establish the BSR, all Bitcoin held by law enforcement agencies were to be transferred to it.

So far, no Bitcoin has been transferred to the BSR, and there have been no “revenue neutral” accumulations of any to put into it.

Coincidentally, I recently started re-reading The Sovereign Individual because my Grey Swan Fraternity colleague Addison Wiggin and I are undertaking a collaborative study of it.

A fresh look, nearly thirty years in, wondering out loud, “How well is it holding up?”

Chapters 4 and 5 on the last gasps of nation states as we understand them seem pretty bang on. At the risk of over-simplifying their narrative arc, the nation state arose providing “protection” services to its customers – the citizens. However, over time the democratic process iteratively cannibalized the productive capacity of those customers, in order to preserve itself, until it was wholly captured by those who operate the government:

“Those who pay for democratic government seldom set the terms of government spending. Instead, government functions as a co-op that is both outside of proprietary control and operating as a natural monopoly. Prices bear little relation to costs.

The quality of service is generally low compared to that in private enterprise. Customer grievances are hard to remedy. In short, mass democracy leads to control of government by its “employees.”

In other words, the inmates are running the asylum – and the cost of running it gets more expensive by the day, so ever more wealth has to be stripped from the “tax cows” (David Stockman’s term) to keep it running.

Canada – where our politicians act with imperiousness and mind-boggling tone-deafness – is arguably further down the road than most countries.

The public is being squeezed from all sides: taxation consuming most of their income, rising cost of living taking what’s left – and anyone fortunate enough to have actual savings to preserve is faced with a collapsing economy to invest it into, not to mention a hurdle rate of about 8%, minimum, to out-pace inflation.

The country’s largest telecom, Bell, is sounding the alarm on a “growing crisis that is endangering public safety and disrupting essential communications infrastructure.”

What is it? People are stealing the copper out of telecom lines – something I saw happening in Panama after the global financial crisis.

Rampant copper-stripping is third-world economic collapse shit. And now it’s sweeping Canada.

The thesis of The Sovereign Individual is that the gunpowder revolution dramatically increased the returns on force, which set in motion all kinds of dynamics that swept away the previous era – one where the Church reigned supreme – and gave rise to the nation state.

That’s just the setup: today, The State takes the place of the church and it’s hard for most people to imagine any other form of governance.

But the information revolution – public key cryptography and computer networks catalyzed a new set of dynamics that actually reduces the returns on force. Now the returns come from information (and as Addison and I are coming to suspect, distributed intelligence).

The last gasps of the nation state today eerily resemble the final days of the Papacy’s geopolitical supremacy. The overpowering tax burdens and regulatory overhang of the modern nation state are expressing the same dynamic as the religious prohibitions, endless indulgences and tithes demanded by the clerisy of yore.

Today, many point at everything that’s happened since Covid as proof that the State, the Deep State, the super-state structures (WHO, WEF, et al) are further consolidating their power.

However, if you’ve read The Sovereign Individual, you may rather think we’ve seen this all before – the excessive overhang of the ruling class and the public resentment toward it are precursors to the end of their hegemony, not proof of its increasing power:

Disdain as a Leading Indicator

Moral outrage against corrupt leaders is not an isolated historical phenomenon but a common precursor of change.

It happens again and again whenever one era gives way to another. Whenever technological change has divorced the old forms from the new moving forces of the economy, moral standards shift, and people begin to treat those in command of the old institutions with growing disdain.

This widespread revulsion comes into evidence well before people develop a new coherent ideology of change.

As we write, there is as yet little evidence of an articulate rejection of politics. That will come later. It has not yet occurred to most of your contemporaries that a life without politics is possible. What we have in the final years of the twentieth century is inarticulate disdain.

The Sovereign Individual was first published in 1997 – when “there was little evidence of an articulate rejection of politics”. But that has since happened — and I would argue that it’s because of another one of the predictions made in the book. They called it “cybercash”:

Now the advent of the Information Age implies another revolution in the character of money. As cybercommerce begins, it will lead inevitably to cybermoney.

This new form of money will reset the odds, reducing the capacity of the world’s nation-states to determine who becomes a Sovereign Individual.

A crucial part of this change will come about because of the effect of information technology in liberating the holders of wealth from expropriation through inflation.

Soon, you will pay for almost any transaction over the Net or World Wide Web at the same time you place it, using cybercash.

This new digital form of money is destined to play a pivotal role in cybercommerce. It will consist of encrypted sequences of multihundred-digit prime numbers. Unique, anonymous, and verifiable, this money will accommodate the largest transactions. It will also be divisible into the tiniest fraction of value.

It will be tradable at a keystroke in a multitrillion-dollar wholesale market without borders.

Since the rise of Bitcoin, the memetic zeitgeist for the entire comic tragedy around the decline of the nation state is embodied by “Clown World”, alternatively “clown car” or “clown show”.

Our shorthand for all of this becomes more valid with each passing scandal, each campaign lie exposed, every heroic letdown and the endless revelations of institutionalized corruption and venality:

Bitcoin is a short on Clown World .

Boomer Libs to Canadians:
“Let them live in shipping containers…”

We’re in the home stretch of the run up to the forthcoming Canadian federal election: where the left-wing Liberal Party is seeking a fourth term after swapping out the domestically reviled, internationally ridiculed Justin Trudeau for the globalist, ultra-rich technocrat and central banker: Mark Carney.

The Liberal base has had it easy for a decade. With a compliant, sycophantic press and a loyal army of boomers—presumably the only ones still answering calls from pollsters on their wall-mounted rotary-dial landlines during CBC commercial breaks—they greet any resistance to the prospect of four more years of controlled demolition of the Canadian economy with smugness and derision.

There are endless cases caught on video of deranged elderly liberals gyrating in spasmodic fashion chanting “elbows up” at each other and the rest of us and they seem to think it’s some kind of “gotcha moment” to fly off the handle or flip us the bird…

From the “Karma’s a bitch” dept…

Today is three years to the day that the Canadian government under Justin Trudeau and deputy PM Chrystia Freeland invoked the Emergencies Act which claimed unprecedented powers and authority (which a federal court later found to be unconstitutional) including the seizure of citizens’ bank accounts – not only of those who were present at the demonstrations in Ottawa, but even anybody who contributed funds to the protestors.

On this day just three years ago – the Canadian government enacted martial law, seized your bank accounts for wrongthink, and brutally put down a peaceful protest.

Never forget. Never forgive and never vote Liberal again. pic.twitter.com/6BKfdWDBMK

It sent shockwaves throughout the world – this was sort of heavy-handed action one expected to see in communist, totalitarian shitholes.

But such actions in Canada, a purported bastion of civil society and a liberal democracy within the “rules-based” global order was unthinkable. It nearly crashed the Canadian banking system, and behind the scenes it looked like the Senate wasn’t going to play ball.

Trudeau hastily rescinded the order, after brutally suppressing the demonstrations on the ground in Ottawa. “Declare victory and withdraw”, as Kissinger would have framed it. A few weeks later the RCMP began unfreezing the bank accounts, and a couple of the banks apologized for seizing their customers funds.

But that bell could not be unrung.

It was a seminal moment that would have many far reaching consequences, including the election of Donald J Trump as the 47th president of the United States of America.

Here’s how Trudeau helped re-elect Trump:

For want of a nail, the horse was lost
For want of a horse, the rider was lost.
For want of a rider, the battle was lost,
For want of a battle, the kingdom was lost.

Step 1: It orange-pilled RFK Jr.

First, invoking the Emergencies Act and seizing bank accounts of lawful citizens appalled countless international observers, among them, a certain Robert F Kennedy Jr, in fact in RFK Jr’s case, it flat-out orange-pilled him.

Trudeau’s only legacy will be that he orange-pilled RFK Jr.

And RFK Jr getting orange-pilled led to Trump embracing Bitcoin.

Trump’s embracing Bitcoin led to the Dems “panic pivot” on crypto.

Trudeau and Freeland have done more to bring on hyper-Bitcoinization than any other… https://t.co/w5UMgiSApc

— Mark Jeftovic, The ₿itcoin Capitalist (@StuntPope) July 30, 2024

A year later RFK Jr gave the keynote address at Bitcoin2023 in Miami, and the very first words out of his mouth were:

“I became a Bitcoiner when I saw what the Canadian government did to the truckers.”

I was there and it was a powerful moment. I was messaging Steve Bannon some of the bullet points as they were being delivered and he was hanging on every text. Bannon, I had noticed, had seemed transfixed by RFK Jr for nearly a year.

A few months later Bannon floats the idea of a Trump / RFK ticket, saying it would bring about a “massive landslide”.

Step 2: RFK Jr. Orange-Pills The Bad Orange Man

When Donald Trump embraced Bitcoin isn’t exactly certain. Someone changed his opinion on it, as he wasn’t a fan as late as 2019…

I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air. Unregulated Crypto Assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity….

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 12, 2019

The Bitcoin Magazine crew who brought RFK Jr to Miami certainly had talks with Trump ahead of Nashville, but it was clear that RFK Jr and Trump were talking to each other and seemed practically fated to wind up on the same side in the coming electoral showdown.

At the following year’s Bitcoin conference, this time in Nashville, Trump also gave a keynote (as did RFK, again). Trump had adopted RFK’s pro-Bitcoin positions point-for-point, and going one further with the idea of a National Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.

Like RFK Jr. in 2023, Trump came out against Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) saying he would ban their development – Bitcoin was freedom money, CBDCs were serfcoin.

Step 3: RFK Jr throws in with Trump

They don’t end up as running mates, as Bannon floated – but after the first assassination attempt (where I think we for real flipped into an alternate reality) – RFK Jr joins Team Trump. The game theory of RFK Jr splitting off votes from Trump (as some of the pundits hoped would be the case), goes away.

Now the two deep state wrecking balls are playing for the same team, and at least one of them was orange-pilled by Justin Trudeau.

Step 4: The Crypto Lobby Gets Behind Trump

At this point the crypto folks pile on with the Bitcoin crew, they all learn the political playbook fast, and start getting behind team Trump, which now includes RFK Jr and this starts to look like a crypto bros vs nocoiners election.

Hey, if that’s the way the political game is played, then let’s play.

The Bitcoiners may not like that team crypto caught the tailwind, but it doesn’t matter now. At the time they were all pushing for the Republican ticket because the Dems, personified by Elizabeth Warren and her “Anti-Crypto Army” had been outright hostile to the entire industry for years, running Operation Chokepoint 2.0 against them, and serving up non-stop Wells notices…

The Dems actually read the room for a change and try to effect a panic pivot to tone down the Bitcoin Derangement Syndrome, but the best they could do was some weird woke crypto pronouncement called “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” (since deleted from the Kamala Harris website) that promised $20K forgivable loans to black men, and – because they’re black, I guess – access to weed.

It was a stunning condescension that basically framed blacks as mentally ill, deadbeat potheads. As I wrote in The Bitcoin Capitalist Letter just before the election:

These smug libs still don’t get how paternalistically racist they are being every time they promote a policy that says, in effect, “Blacks are hopeless, deadbeat, stoners: here’s a policy that will help them get their shit together”.

Also, $20K isn’t entrepreneurial seed funding, it’s asswipe money.

Fucking morons.

We all know what happened next.

Step #4: Landslide

The election was a total blowout – my Polymarket bets hit across the board. I cleaned up.

Welp. Time to fire up the VPN so I can hop onto Polymarket and scoop up my winnings…. pic.twitter.com/xX7vUPmm7w

— Mark Jeftovic, The ₿itcoin Capitalist (@StuntPope) November 6, 2024

Now I have an RSS feed setup in my mail reader and I just marvel at the tempo and wildness of the EO’s coming out of the Trump admin: renaming the Gulf of <del>Mexico</del> America, mass firings, budget freezes, DOGE, Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard, et al – and irony of ironies, a tariff war against Canada that’s thrown this country’s political class into chaos.

Trudeau has since announced his resignation – arguably precipitated by the crisis that erupted with he tried to oust his Deputy PM and Finance Minister, Chrystia Freeland over differences on how to handle the Trump tariffs.

What goes around, comes around…

Karma’s a bitch.

Once you understand who the true ruling powers of this world are and come to know the deceptions employed getting others to do their dirty work, the propaganda these cruel and sadistic bastards use becomes painfully, mind-numbingly, boring. It’s always the same old dialectics completely overrunning and drowning out any discussion of real issues facing humanity. The problem is that it still works, fantastically well, in fact. There’s no better example of this than the recent speech by the new champion of White Europe, Eva Vlaardingerbroek.

In this rousing litany against unchecked migration, Vlaardingerbroek proudly touts the white replacement/genocide theory as anything but the deranged fantasy of white supremacists. It’s undeniably happening, and something must be done about it. Of course, that something is exactly what her handlers are hoping for; war between Christian Europe and Muslim North Africa.

The Kalergi Plan

In 1925 a European aristocrat named Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi published a book called Praktischer Idealismus (“Practical Idealism”), in which he predicted that a mixed race of the future would arise: “The man of the future will be of mixed race. Today’s races and castes will gradually disappear owing to the vanishing of space, time, and prejudice. The Eurasian-Negroid race of the future, similar in its appearance to the Ancient Egyptians, will replace the diversity of peoples with a diversity of individuals.”

Kalergi himself was a mixed-race European, with an Austro-Hungarian count for a father and his mother being from a wealthy Japanese family. He spent his upbringing on family estates, attending mass every Sunday. On Good Fridays, when the liturgy came to the exhortation “oremus et pro perfidis Judaeis” (“Let us also pray for the perfidious Jews”), Kalergi’s father allegedly rose and walked out of the church in a protest against this supposed expression of antisemitism. He would later marry Jewish actress Ida Roland in April 1915, a divorcée thirteen years his senior, and a commoner, which caused some strife within his family.

He published his first book, Pan-Europa, in 1923 and it was the inspiration for what eventually became the European Union. This was followed by the 1925 book with his prediction that migration and intermarrying between various ethnic groups would eventually turn Europe into a racially homogenous population. It should be noted that nowhere in Kalergi’s book is an actual plan for bringing this about, but he and many others nevertheless saw this as a desirable outcome for Europe and began the work necessary to bring it about.

Opening The Gates of Toledo

Despite many “fact check” organizations declaring the Kalergi Plan a white supremacist conspiracy theory, there are nevertheless many individuals proudly stating they’re carrying out the steps necessary to bring about this imagined future. Namely, the mass migration of North Africans into Europe.

One example of this is Barbara Lerner-Specter, a Zionist academic and the wife of a Rabbi. After living in Israel for nearly 30 years the couple moved to Sweden in 1999. A year later she founded Paideia, an advocacy and training institute with the stated mission of “creating a new paradigm of European Jewish culture.” The organization also claimed, in a 2013 presentation, that they have graduates “active in every field of Jewish life: from academia to community life and interreligious work, from the arts to journalism and cultural festivals, adding substance, innovation and enthusiasm to Jewish life and culture throughout Europe.”

In an interview recorded by the Israel Broadcasting Authority about the growing migrant crisis in Sweden, Barbara makes very similar proclamations about the future of Europe as Kalergi did 90 years earlier, and highlights the Jewish influences bringing it about.

Barbara is hardly the only Zionist to be pushing the multicultural agenda, and where some do it openly, others are doing it in secret. Take US “Conservative” commentator Ben Shapiro, for example. On his Twitter account he overtly draws attention to the southern border crisis.

Yet covertly, he is recorded as donating from $100,000 to $500,000 to a Jewish migration NGO called the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS).

Problem, Reaction, Final Solution

That an incredible amount of racism is being directed towards “whites” by certain groups of Jews is no secret, and the intended destruction of western culture and values has been openly and proudly declared.

The challenge in carrying this out is preventing people from realizing what forces are behind their troubles, and this is where Eva Vlaardingerbroek comes in. She keeps people focused on their own local governments, rather than the foreign one that’s pulling all their strings – Israel.

Let’s just take a closer look at Eva, so you see what I mean.

In 2021 she was introduced to Will Witt, another right-wing commentator like Ben Shapiro, by the Zionist Jew Dennis Prager, namesake of PragerU, where Will worked. In a December 2021 interview with the Jewish Republican Alliance, Witt credits Prager as his “wisdom guru,” and “the guy who teaches me almost everything.” It was around this time that Eva’s career as yet another “Conservative” commentator began. A year later Eva and Will were married. PragerU’s CEO is Marissa Streit, another US-born Jew who lived in Israel for a time and was recruited into the IDF’s shadowy Unit 8200.

To hear Streit talk about Unit 8200 you would think it was just some sort of fun summer camp being run by the military. In reality it’s an elite intelligence group that recruits people of high aptitude straight out of high school, where they go on to create countless companies in the tech space furthering their SIGINT capabilities.

From the infamous NSO Group, creator of the Pegasus malware used to murder political dissidents, to everyday apps like Waze, and website hosts like Wix, Unit 8200 seems to have their fingers in a vast portion of the tech products many people use. They’re even behind AU10TIX, the Israeli identity verification company that Twitter is about to force everyone to use for monetization.

Is it also merely coincidence that both PragerU and Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire were started with funds from Texas fracking billionaires and Christian Zionists, Dan and Farris Wilks?

In April 2023 Eva and her father converted from Protestantism to Catholicism, her mother’s Christian denomination. It seemed quite an unnecessary thing to do, but she was apparently strongly inspired to take on the Catholic faith. In an interview with the National Catholic Register Eva stated that the most important element of Catholicism that attracted her to it was “transubstantiation,” the “change of the whole substance of bread into the substance of the Body of Christ and of the whole substance of wine into the substance of his Blood.”

In other words, Eva wanted to be a cannibal, and even clarified in the interview “it’s not symbolic at all.”

This should not be so strange to you, it’s a subject I’ve covered extensively in other posts. Agents recruited into the service of this international cabal are subjected to a form of ritual sacrifice. These sacrifices usually take the form of the death of one of their children, or another close family member. Sometimes they will undergo a religious conversion, to either Catholicism or Judaism, or are married to a Zionist Jew.

Parting Thoughts

Jews are not a monolithic group, just as there are many denominations within religions so too are there many divisions within Judaism. Some support the State of Israel and thus call themselves Zionists. Others oppose Israel. Even non-Jews will call themselves Zionists where they unwaveringly support the ethno-state that was foisted upon the people of the Levant. If you’ve been reading my reports, you know the true nature of humanity’s adversary and that it has no public face. Judaism has probably been subverted by their influence more than any other group, likely due to the many millennia that have passed since the true children of Israel (who are able to trace their lineage to Adam and Eve) were shown favor by “God.”

All this makes for a curious state of affairs, where Christians living in Europe and the USA profess support for Israel even while Christians living within Israel are being persecuted with ever increasing fervor.

The intention of the mass migrations into Europe and the USA are obvious; destabilize the society and foment internal conflicts to weaken them to the point where external help is sought. This, then, is delivered in the form of aid from perhaps the United Nations, or Israel itself, in return for concessions on their national sovereignty? Whatever it is, you must look past the immediate problem, violent foreigners wreaking havoc, to see the root cause of it, a group of bigoted, Zionist Jews who truly see themselves as the master race, divinely appointed to rule over the planet with an iron fist.

It’s no longer about markets.
It’s about identity.

The historian Prof. Gary Gerstle maintained that the neo liberal order was coming to an end, that free movement of goods, money, ideas and talent characterized the neo liberal order and that it was in the process of losing ascendancy. Losing ascendancy does not mean disappearing, it means losing ascendancy. Peter Zeihan says much the same and locates the issue in the guarantee offered by the US Navy since WW2 to police the sea lanes of the world. Also large diesel engines and cheap fuel may have as much to do with trade as any deliberate policy measures. I digress.

Somewhat to my surprise I agreed with the leftist professor of history.

So far so good. I have ordered his book and will read it skeptically. (The Rise and Fall of the Neo-Liberal Order).

The neo liberal order got going about the time of Reagan and Thatcher and was characterized by reliance upon, and praise for, the market. In the period under discussion, various US Presidents, of whom Clinton is prominent, also pursued neo liberal promarket policies. This illustrates the tendency for large movements of policy to continue despite changes in the party holding the presidency. Canada obtained free trade with the US, and many liberalizing trade measures were adopted throughout this period roughly 1970-2000.

The next assertion of the professor was that the dominance of neo liberalism was coming to an end. I also agree with that assertion, perhaps for different reasons than those of the learned professor.

The effects of the neo liberal order were various and I shall try to point out the major features. This is obviously me talking, not Professor Gerstle.

off shoring of domestic North American manufacturing, which led to the gutting of manufacturing towns, increasing despair and drug addictions (viz Angus Deaton on deaths of despair in the working class) and much cheaper goods at the stores

Industrialization of much of the rest of the world. When did you first notice that clothing you wore came from Cambodia, Indonesia, or Vietnam?

Very significant increase of the national share of wealth to the top 1% and eventually the top 1% of the 1% as the economy became more monetary and intangible and less a matter of things produced. Software firms worth more than Boeing or Ford for instance.

Oxycontin plagues and mass drug addictions

Very high rates of non white immigration of peoples to Europe and North America. You are not supposed to notice this, by the way. But assimilation is not proceeding too well in many European countries and the same process is well underway in the United States.

The remainder of Professor Gerstle’s talk concerned Trump, Orban and Bolsonaro and the supposed authoritarianism of same and the threat to democracy. I should say “democracy” because clearly the word has become code for something other than changes of governments in a populist direction. These are held to be threats to “democracy” which seem to consist of changes of history of which leftists disapprove.

Here is where I depart from Professor Gerstle’s alarmism about populist changes to governments.

He was also concerned with the January 6th insurrection on the hill and the menace it portended to the continuity of American institutions. I was once very alarmed by January 6th riots until I began to believe the entire event was a police -infiltrated and significantly police-inspired stunt to disgrace Trump. It has worked.

Prof. Gerstle along with many other Democrats believes that democracy is under attack.

Let me try to set forth the reasoning of many on the Trumpist right, if “right” is the term to be applied. Here we get to territory that will summon forth political disagreement.

For many of us, a combination of events has persuaded us that democracy is already in grave danger from the following, which is largely drawn from the US experience.

A politicized leftist judiciary and prosecutorial apparatus

A politicized federal police

A politicized intelligence apparatus

An almost certainly manipulated if not stolen presidential election

Uncontrolled immigration of people, some of whom are in the United States with subversive intentions

The immigration of 20 or 40 millions is not being controlled because the Democrats want to achieve permanent electoral supremacy by endowing the illegals with votes

A minor but serious plague has been used as a pretext for a massive repression of personal liberties both of trade and movement on the basis of compulsory vaccination by radical mRNA therapies that have been insufficiently tested, and which appear to be causing a serious increase of deaths in the general population

which plague was engineered by experiments in gain of function (increased lethality) research funded by US sources in Chinese laboratories (RFK I pushing these buttons as a central part of his electoral campaign)

A push by all global leaders and bureaucracies to reduce energetic throughputs, the basis of wealth creation, in the name of a spurious climate agenda.

A fundamental attack on sex roles being carried on as the focus of the next personal liberation struggle.

So yes, the people, rightly or wrongly, are unhappy with the state of their governments and what these governments have so clearly indicated they wish to do.

Consequently, as a result of governments being so badly misaligned with their electorates, and so apparently ready to call opposition to their intentions as “far right” “fascist” “transphobic”, and so ready to denigrate the white settler populations of which the electorate is still mostly composed, the neo liberal order is coming to an end. This is occurring not because of trade issues, or income inequality, but because of fundamental challenges posed by left wing governments to the people who still compose the electorates.

To what do we belong? To the nation, or to various sexual and cultural minorities?

Trump has a clear answer. Biden, if he has an answer at all, says that most Americans belong to an illegitimate race. And if he cannot say this, his minions state it or insinuate it.

The neo liberal order is coming to an end because the issues have decisively moved on from trade and markets to identity and belonging

Sign up for The Bombthrower mailing list to get unacceptable opinions written by fringe extremists – straight into your inbox.
When police suspected Danny Kyllo, an Oregon man, of growing cannabis in his home they drove to his house with a thermal imaging device to scan it. They found hot pockets in the house, which were used to obtain a search warrant and subsequently bust Kyllo.

Fortunately, a 5-4 Supreme Court decision ruled the scan an unlawful search under the Fourth Amendment, requiring a warrant the police did not obtain. Score one for privacy, but the government is about to have a far more controversial and dangerous tool at its disposal to monitor what’s going on inside your home.

Unlike a thermal imager, this device is already in your home – and you put it there.

How It Works

WiFi is electromagnetic waves in the 2.4 and 5 GHz ranges. It’s the same thing as the light you see, only it can penetrate walls due to its much longer wavelength. Just like light (and echolocation) these waves also reflect off various surfaces and, when reconstructed properly, can be used to create an image.

Development of this technology goes back at least as far as July 2005, where researchers claimed at an IEEE Symposium that they had created an ultra-wideband high-resolution short pulse imaging radar system operating around 10 GHz. The applications for which were explicitly for military and police use, providing them with “enhanced situation awareness.”

A few years later, in 2008, researchers at UC Santa Barbara created an initial approach for imaging with WiFi that they presented at IEEE ACC 2009. A year later they demonstrated the feasibility of this approach.

The Race is On

Sensing the potential of this new surveillance technology, other researchers began piling on. Progress was initially slow but, in 2017, two researchers in Germany demonstrated the ability to do WiFi imaging using techniques borrowed from the field of holography. According to Philipp Holl, an undergrad student and lead study author who worked with Friedemann Reinhard of the Technical University of Munich to develop the new method, “The past two years have seen an explosion of methods for passive Wi-Fi imaging.”

At the time, the technology could only make out rough shapes of things. “If there’s a cup of coffee on a table, you may see something is there, but you couldn’t see the shape,” Holl says, “but you could make out the shape of a person, or a dog on a couch. Really any object that’s more than 4 centimeters in size.”

The Controversy Begins

In 2018 the team at UC Santa Barbara published a paper titled “Et Tu Alexa?” examining the potential threats of this emerging technology. They examined the problem of adversarial WiFi sensing and the risk to privacy resulting from the widespread deployment of wireless devices, which could be used to track your precise physical location, movement, and other physiological properties.

Fortunately, they also propose some countermeasures for defending against such attacks to reduce the quantity and quality of the WiFi signals captured by the attacker, such as Geo-fencing and rate-limiting. These methods are not as effective with IoT devices, though, due to the frequency with which they make transmissions.

The Breakthrough

Up until this point it was necessary to use frequencies higher than commercial WiFi (2.4 and 5 GHz) to achieve decent imaging resolutions. That all changed in February 2019 when a team from Michigan State University published a paper in IEEE Access outlining how they were able to use signals at 5.5 GHz, which matches the 802.11n/ac WiFi protocol, to create a 2-D image of two reflecting spheres and a reflecting X-shaped target, concluding “full 2-D imagery is possible by capturing the WiFi signals present in typical environments.”

Adding AI and Going 3-D

At MobiCom 2020, researchers from the University of Buffalo, presented their WiPose technology, touted as “the first 3-D human pose construction framework using commercial WiFi devices.” This system uses the 2-D imaging technology previously discussed to construct a 3-D avatar of the humans captured by it. The system uses a deep learning model that encodes the prior knowledge of human skeletons in the construction process of the 3-D model.

In 2019, former DARPA contractor Ray Liu launched his first commercial product in the WiFi sensing domain. Pitched as a way of “Making the world safer, healthier, and smarter,” the original military and law enforcement usages mentioned when this technology was born in 2005 were cast aside. The company claims the technology is so accurate that it can sense your breathing using nothing but standard WiFi signals.

In a 2021 company blog, Liu discusses the development of IEEE 802.11bf, a new WiFi protocol, which is aimed at standardizing WiFi imaging across all devices – thus making it easier for companies such as his to exploit compatible wireless networks. Liu was elected to serve as IEEE President for 2022, and the new standard continues to be developed to this day.

Further refinements to the imaging technology itself have been made. In late 2021 another paper was submitted to IEEE outlining how the researchers were able to achieve high-resolution imaging results with commercial WiFi signals using beamforming on the 802.11n/ac protocol.

Ready for Production

The perfect WiFi imaging system may have just been introduced to the world in December 2022, when researchers from Carnegie Mellon University married the latest in WiFi sensing technology to a human form estimation engine known as DensePose.

(Left Column) image-based DensePose (Right Column) WiFi-based DensePose

DensePose is a technology developed by Meta/Facebook, beginning in 2018. It’s very similar to the WiPose system we previously discussed and aims at “mapping all human pixels of an RGB image to the 3D surface of a human body.” The researchers modified DensePose so that, rather than taking an RGB image, it would be compatible with the imagery being produced by state-of-the-art WiFi sensing technologies. The resulting system “can detect the pose of humans in a room based solely on the WiFi signals passing through the environment.”

Big Brother’s New Eyes

It’s telling how the pitch for this technology has pivoted from military and police use to keeping people safe in their own homes. The true purpose of this is obviously for law enforcement, the military, and intelligence agencies. We already live with mass digital surveillance and if you don’t believe that this won’t get incorporated into their plans to monitor everything you do, then you haven’t been paying attention.

Apart from putting CCTV cameras in everyone’s living spaces, this technology offers a comprehensive and supremely surreptitious way of putting eyes in every room of your house and place of work. Indeed, this just may become the norm. With nearly a third of Gen Z favoring the installation of government surveillance cameras in your home, this less-intrusive method may just find even broader support from the brainwashed masses. It will be possible to know where you are in the house and exactly what you’re doing, from sitting on the toilet to making love.

We’ve seen how easily intelligence agencies can get secret warrants to surveil anyone of particular interest. We’ve also seen just how easy it is for someone to become a target for surveillance. You very well might, one day, find your WiFi router and access points feeding imagery to an alphabet agency that didn’t like your social media posts, while armed thugs wait for the perfect moment to execute their next no-knock raid.
